The Course Description The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the basic concepts of Applied Linguistics and Educational Technologies. The course, as well as the compiled course book, consists of the theoretical and practical part. All the units in the theoretical part are covered in the practical part with the purpose to explore the topics deeper and engage students by giving them hands on experience in the specific field. The units that are not covered in the theoretical part are Materials in ESL and Needs Analysis because we want to investigate the applicability of these issues in language teaching.

Extra tasks to earn the course points The course offers the opportunity for students to earn part of the points for this subject via the following presentation tasks that can be presented live in the class or submitted in electronic format. (If you choose to submit in electronic form you can add voice to your presentation and send it by mail (tutorial for adding voice ). The date when you want to present should be announced to the teacher in advance or on trello board ( more information on the next The topics should be presented evenly during the period of the course. The presentation should not exceed 10 minutes. You can choose maximum 4 modes to earn the points. The points you earn are added to your total score at the final exam.

Top 100 Tools for Learning 2015 (p. 126) choose 1 (5 points); 4. Present the Implementation Plan for a Blended Learning Model in our English Teaching Classroom (our department or a course in primary, secondary or private school) (8 points); 5. Present the Plan for an Online Course you would like to Develop (cover the main topics in Unit 6 and 15 in this course book) (8 points); 6. Make a video Meet your Teacher (5 points); 7. Conduct a needs analysis and report on your results (Unit 16) – 8 points;

Videos in the book Videos in the book have threefold purpose: 1. Videos in the book can help you cover some lessons in the book from different perspective. 2. The second purpose is to use them in the Flipped Classroom Model. The model where you should watch them in advance and discuss them in the classroom. 3. Sometimes we will watch them in the classroom as a part of the lecture.

Online courses enrollment PLATFORMS: 1. Coursera 2. Udemy 3. Future learn 4. edX 5. Iversity and many more…. The reason is to experience online learning so that you can comprehend the lesson devoted to this topic with hands on experience.
