THE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME GROUP 2 - LANGUAGE B A NEW CULTURE! ENGLISH DEPARTMENT 2015

The Diploma Programme aims to encourage students to be knowledgeable and inquiring, but also caring and compassionate. There is a strong emphasis on encouraging students to develop intercultural understanding, open- mindedness, and the attitudes necessary for them to respect and evaluate a range of points of view.

The group 2 courses use a balance between approaches to learning that are teacher- centred and those that are learner-centred. Language B courses develop students’ linguistic abilities through the development of receptive, productive and interactive skills.

The assessment objectives, the depth and breadth of syllabus coverage, the assessment details, the assessment criteria, literature coverage and suggested teaching hours. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SL AND HL The study of an additional language in group 2 adds to the international dimension of the Diploma Programme.
