OBJECTIVE Develop Student Instructor Pilot’s (IP) understanding of the T700 engine and it’s related components.

DEFINITION The T700 is a front drive, turboshaft engine of modular construction. The engine is divided into four modules: cold section, hot section, power turbine section, and accessory section.

COLD SECTION Inlet particle separator Compressor Output shaft assembly Line replaceable units (LRUs) Electrical control unit (ECU) Anti-icing and start bleed valve (AISBV) History recorder Ignition system and electrical cables

HOT SECTION The Gas Generator Turbine Stage 1 Nozzle Assembly Combustion Liner LRU’s Primer Nozzles Ignitors

POWER TURBINE SECTION Two Stage Power Turbine Exhaust Frame The Power Turbine Shaft LRU’s Thermocouple Harness Torque and Np Overspeed Sensor Np (% RPM 1 or 2) Sensor

ACCESSORY SECTION Top Mounted Accessory Gear Box LRU’s Hydromechanical Unit (HMU) Engine Driven Boost Pump Oil Filter Oil Cooler Alternator Oil and Scavenge Pump

Accessory Section (Cont.) Particle Separator Blower Fuel Filter Assembly Chip Detector Oil Filter Bypass Sensor Radial Drive Shaft Fuel Pressure Sensor Oil Pressure Sensor Pressure and Overspeed Unit (POU)
