Build Your Own Reading Log and Wish Lists on Destiny And write your own book reviews and rate the books you’ve read and recommend books to your friends!

Why build lists? 1.To keep track of books you have read. Maybe you just like to remember but can’t think of the title or author later. Making a list as you go will help you recall later. 2.To keep a reading log to help with your Reading class. 3.To keep a list of sources you use for a project. 4.To print out a bibliography that might be required for a project. 5.To share with people in your group. 6.To list books you want to read later. Maybe they are checked out now and you can’t get them. Maybe you are already reading something and you don’t want to forget about a good book you spotted.

Go to and choose Roberson Middle Schoolhttp://destiny.springisd.org

Log In with your regular username and password (top right Login button).

Click on Catalog Tab, then on left side, click on Resource Lists.

Everyone has a list called My Personal List. You have to keep this list.

Click on Add List (top right corner).

You will see this screen. To create a reading log, enter this information in the boxes and save it.

You can also create a list of books you want to read later and save it.

You can also build lists for projects.

Now your Resource Lists pages looks like this:

See also at the top right a tab called Public Lists. There you can see lists that the librarian and others have made.

Save on Printing by clicking the Printable button at top right.

Need a citation list? Click Go at the bottom of the page.

This is a sample of a Citation List. Your teacher may require one.

Want a Bibliography with call numbers? Choose Bibliography instead of Citation List. If you check Show notes, it will give a description as well.

You can also add a review. First search for a title. Then click on the title. Here you see that this has a 5-star review already. You can see a blue link called 1 review.

If you click on 1 review (or some other number of reviews), you can find a button to add a review of your own.

Click on Add Review.

Use good sentences and spelling so others will understand. Do not sign your name to protect yourself from online predators.

You can recommend a book to a friend. Click Recommend (top right) and enter your friend’s name (if you know how to spell the name).

Use all these features! You’ll find them helpful and fun!
