Welcome to Miss Dan’s Class CARE Core Language Arts

Program Overview Teach at appropriate student level Language! Level D Homework: –Reading Log M-Th signed by parent –May be other assignments, but not often Extra Credit- on website

Language! Students have been in this program before 90 minute replacement curriculum Focusing this year on note taking and essay writing Student Materials kept at school Any homework will be a print out given to them at school 6 Steps in each lesson 10 lessons per unit 6 units

Grades Students will receive 2 separate grades for this class 2 nd period grade- based on homework, class work, and assessments 5 th period grade- effort grade –Students first grade themselves in areas of effort, independence, and participation –I will base my grade for them based on my observation and their honesty with their own grading

Homework Absent/Late Policy Students have 2 days for every day they are absent to make up missing work Late work will only be given up to 70% credit –Only turned in 1 day late (7th grade more flexible) –Not accepted after the next day Students will earn 80% or higher if all work is turned in
