 LO s  To explore some of the key ethical questions and concepts of genetic engineering   To discuss some of the associated moral dilemmas  Starter - “GE is concerned with the manipulation of DNA, the building blocks of an organism.”   Discuss and brainstorm different areas of genetic engineering

 Can you think of/consider/discuss moral questions that any of these types of genetic engineering might throw up?

 P – Read and answer the question – What are somatic and germ-line engineering? What is the ethical difference between them?  Note down questions for discussion on p255

 Read your sheet. Find someone who can fill in each definition and then also discuss with them a) why useful and b) potential moral questions  Extension – Consider your opinion on the given moral questions
