MBS EQUIPMENT ENHANCEMENTS Bonnie Faulkner

In the 4.0 release, we have added the following options to the company equipment screens: Reservations Inventory Control Shareable Equipment Equipment Transfer Default User Locations for Return To and Install From NEW EQUIPMENT ENHANCEMENTS 2www.cdg.ws

This new option for the assignment of equipment gives MBS users the ability to reserve equipment items to be added to a service during a session, without specifying specific pieces of equipment. The option for Reservations appears on the equipment screen in Customer Care for all services that have equipment assigned, as well as the Company Equipment Master screen and Dashboard module. EQUIPMENT RESERVATIONS 3www.cdg.ws

Rather than tying up equipment inventory on a session, users can now enter equipment reservations that place a hold for equipment to be assigned later. EQUIPMENT RESERVATIONS 4www.cdg.ws

Select New Reservation, then select the Equipment Type and Equipment Model, enter the number of pieces of equipment to reserve, and select Save. Once you have entered a reservation, the session can be left incomplete, but the session cannot be completed unless the reservation is cancelled or fulfilled. TO ADD A RESERVATION 5www.cdg.ws

Go to the Company Equipment Master screen and select Reservations. TO VIEW PENDING RESERVATIONS 6www.cdg.ws

NEW EQUIPMENT RESERVATIONS SCREEN 7www.cdg.ws Pending reservations are shown on this screen. The Warehouse group can view the pending equipment requirements by selecting a particular equipment type or by clicking Search to see all reservations. Note: To launch directly into the subscriber session, click the hyperlink here.

Reserved equipment has also been added to the Equipment Summary screen. EQUIPMENT SUMMARY - RESERVATIONS 8www.cdg.ws

There is a new Reserved column on this screen to account for the reserved equipment. EQUIPMENT SUMMARY - RESERVATIONS 9www.cdg.ws

The Plant User can open the session, from Task Management, as they normally do, and go to the equipment screen. To assign the physical equipment, select New Equipment. TO FULFILL THE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED 10www.cdg.ws

Enter the specific equipment number, or search for and select the equipment needed to fulfill the reservation, and then select Save. Note: The equipment type must be the same, but a different model can be used if the selected model is not available. ASSIGNING EQUIPMENT TO RESERVATIONS 11www.cdg.ws

The session can be completed or sent to SAM after the physical equipment has been added. Note: My reservation now shows Reserved 2/Need 0. Once the order is completed, the reservation line below is deleted. ASSIGNING EQUIPMENT TO RESERVATIONS 12www.cdg.ws

We have added an inventory control mechanism based on the equipment type, in order to make it easier for our customers to monitor the equipment inventory. This also allows companies to set the minimum and maximum number of specific equipment pieces to be on hand at a location. Entries are made on the Company Equipment Model screen. When there is a shortage or overage based on the minimum and maximum, this discrepancy will display (in red) in a new inventory control column on the Equipment Summary screen. INVENTORY CONTROL OPTION 13www.cdg.ws

New Inventory Control button on the Company Equipment Model screen. To inventory each equipment model, highlight a row (model) and select Inventory Control. NEW INVENTORY CONTROL BUTTON 14www.cdg.ws

For each equipment location/model, set up the minimum and maximum inventory by selecting Open here. TO SET UP INVENTORY 15www.cdg.ws

Inventory can be viewed from the Equipment Summary screen or the Dashboard module. Summary by type is shown on the Company Equipment Master screen. VIEWING EQUIP INVENTORY SUMMARY 16www.cdg.ws

VIEWING EQUIP INVENTORY – LOC/MODEL 17www.cdg.ws

From the Dashboard gadget, you are basically opening the Company Equipment Master screen. Select the magnifying glass to drill down here. You will be taken to the Company Equipment Master screen and then select the Equipment Summary button. DASHBOARD – CO BROADBAND EQUIP 18www.cdg.ws

We now provide a means to share equipment installed on one Service with another Service(s) for either the same subscriber or a different subscriber. This requirement exists primarily to support provisioning of Fiber. Optical Network Terminals (ONT) have POTS, Ethernet, and Video ports, often more than one of each, and each port may support a different service. Also, multi-occupancy buildings such as strip malls and apartment buildings may have an ONT that services multiple voice, data, and video subscribers. NEW SHARING EQUIPMENT OPTION 19www.cdg.ws

For example: To share an ONT, enter the equipment/or equipment reservation for the ONT to be shared. Note: Equipment that is shareable is set up on the Company Equipment Model screen. Shareable must be marked required. TO SHARE EQUIPMENT 20www.cdg.ws

On the equipment screen for the service that will share equipment with another subscriber, select New Share from the shortcut menu. Select the subscriber that has the shareable equipment and click the search button (binoculars). The service and equipment will display, as well as the appropriate share ID. SHARING EQUIPMENT 21www.cdg.ws

To see who is sharing equipment, go to the original piece of equipment on the Company Equipment Master screen and select Shared By. TO VIEW SHARED EQUIPMENT 22www.cdg.ws

When Shared By is selected on the original piece of equipment, any customers sharing the equipment will appear in the Equipment Sharing list on the Company Equipment Master screen. Note: The original equipment can not be outed until it is moved off to another customer in this shared group. WHO IS SHARING MY EQUIPMENT? 23www.cdg.ws

Ability to assign default equipment location by user ID, from the Security module. Return To Install From Company Equipment Transfer batch allows technicians to return equipment using batch process. This is available from the Company Equipment Master screen. 2 NEW OPTIONS WITH ENHANCEMENT 24www.cdg.ws
