Central Region Fall Meeting 2011 OCTOBER 17 !!!!!  Required Info  Fall Class Enrollment Due Oct 17  Located on Ag-Ed and Central Region Portal  POA /Budgets on School Portal by Oct 17  Food Processing Reports Due Oct 17  FFA Roster and Dues turned in by Oct 17  Monthly Reports Due the 10 th of each month

 Will help us collect accurate data  Show the number in each course/pathway  Will provide SAE data  Points to remember  Each teacher completes and submits a form(in-school & YF)  Last name comma first name  Submit Oct. 17, save a copy, update and resubmit April 1 to include 2 nd semester data.  Middle School: Submit for each grading period  Found on region portal:

 Budget  Governor’s office has requested a 2% freeze.  Our plan of action  Accountability  Vitally important  Our goal: 100% of Central Region teachers meeting all standards  We can help!

 Credentialing  CDE’s will be our method  Students receiving a score of 50% or higher  Industry Certification  Requirements have been updated and are on the AgEd website.  GA Farm Bureau is the Certifying Agent  Our goal is to have at least 10 programs certified in the Central Region.

New Membership Roster System – Ag Career Network (ACN) will open early September – Each teacher will need a MyFFA login to use the site FFA Dues are $11 for – State dues = $4 – National dues = $7 – Chapters who Affiliate should not collect dues from students – FFA rosters and payment are due in the State FFA Office by October 15 AET Online recordkeeping system – Free for all Georgia chapters in – Log on to – Use your chapter number (GA????) as your ID and password to start your account – AET will generate FFA award/degree applications

84 th National FFA Convention (Oct 19-22, 2011) – Online registration is open (go to – Registration prices $40 per person through early online & in an FFA hotel $60 per person through early online NOT in an FFA hotel $70 per person if you register onsite in Indy – Housing State block at the Sheraton downtown ( very few rooms remain !) National Housing block is open – Georgia recognition 14 national proficiency finalists 10 national 3-Star; and 16 national 2-Star chapters 2 national Agriscience Student of the Year finalists An Agriscience Teacher of the Year finalist ( Sara Clark, Sonoraville ) 55 American Degree recipients

Applications and Award Guidelines – CDE guidelines are new (national & state) – National Chapter & Agriscience guidelines/applications are new for – Proficiency & American Degree applications will be the same for 2012! ( New applications held until 2013 ) State Convention Registration – $250 per chapter – That fee covers all attendees from a chapter (students, 1-day passes, parents, administrators, etc….) – Online registration (numbers) and payment due April 1. Schedule for CDEs – Check your calendars for new Area & State CDE schedules! Contact the FFA office if you have questions – (706)

2012 Summer Camp (SLC) 2012 FFA-FCCLA Summer Leadership Camp Week One: May 21 Week Four: June 11 Week Two: May 28 Week Five: June 18 Week Three: June 4 New Price: $135 early, $155 standard New Deposit Amount: $35 per student New Deposit Policy: Deposit must be received within two weeks of online registration submitted

2012 Summer Staff –Apply online in January –First round of hiring: March 15 (First round open only to FFA and FCCLA) –Summer Staff Training starts May 6th –Must have completed one year of college
