UCAS Reminder to all students applying to university this year; You have less than a month to complete your application! If you are having problems completing the application, see your mentor or attend the UCAS Get Sets ASAP! Those who have already sent applications off can monitor you progress on Track on the UCAS website. Students who have been offered interviews can see the destinations team to arrange mock interview practice.

Apprenticeships If you’re considering applying for an apprenticeship this year, companies are now advertising. It would be useful to sign up to to conduct some research and speak to your mentor. Make sure you check Grapevine for more opportunities.

Get Sets Reminder to everyone to book onto your three Get Set Sessions by the end of November! New sessions have been added since half term Once you have completed your passport and evaluation, hand it in to your mentor.

Anti-Bullying Month The posters for the competition need to be A3 sized and created in media that is easy to copy. i.e. no fabric. The winner will get their poster displayed around college. To design a wristband, collect a template from Sharon Vessey. These designs should include an anti-bullying slogan. The winner will have their design made and sold in college.

Remembrance Day Today at 11am the college will observe 2 minutes silence to remember fallen soldiers. There are poppies available from student support.

Student of the Month Student of the Month is a new mentor initiative which recognises the achievements of all students at JLC, not just in the classroom. If you feel you have done something incredible this month, share it with your mentor. Prizes to be won!

Oral Health Week From Monday 17 th it’s oral health week. On Friday 21 st November the NHS will be coming in the college to discuss oral health with you.
