What is Moodle? Moodle means (Modular Object-Orientated Dynamic Learning Environment). Users call themselves “Moodlers”. Moodle is an E-Learning Platform also known as V.L.E. (Virtual Learning Environment).

Motivation The way children learn is changing dramatically (Internet, mobile phones, interactive TV, etc…). Moodle is a technology which was created to overcome a potential mismatch between digital natives (all the children born in the digital age) and the digital immigrants (most teachers who grew up in a non digital world and who are teaching the natives).

Objective The key objective of learning platforms is to support learning and teaching in the classroom. They also support distance education and supplement face-to-face teaching.

Organisation Moodle runs on a server. The content is delivered via the global network (Internet) and can be accessed at anytime and from anywhere (local authorities, schools and home). The inside of a learning platform contains a number of facilities that are intended to mimic an existing (non-virtual) learning environment.

Organisation According to their user rights, teachers and pupils have access to - Courses (learning resources such as documents, web links, quizzes, videos..) - Assessment and grades - Communication - Tracking - Management
