Thesis Statement: Answer the following question in a simple sentence: How has the coal ash spill affected the North Carolina River System?

Writing Task: Write an informative essay (1-2 paragraphs) about the Duke Energy coal ash spill. Include answers to the following questions: When did this event happen? How did this spill happen? Who is responsible? Who was affected by the spill? How will the ash be cleaned from the river? Are there any long-term effects to the NC River System?
