Commit to Class This is a story about a college student, Garrett.  Garrett likes to go to the movies.  He recently went to see a rerun of Clint Eastwood’s movie “Gran Torino” because everyone said how good it was and he had never seen it.  Have any of you seen it?  Did you like it?  Garrett didn’t like it because he found it unclear and confusing.

1 | 11 Copyright © Cengage Learning. All rights reserved. Here are six details: 1.The movie ran from 2pm-4:15pm. 2.Garrett arrived at 2:15pm because he knows the theaters always show a lot of previews, and he doesn’t like to see them since they give away too much of the plot of the actual film. However, in this case, because the film was fairly long, there were only 6 minutes of previews. Therefore, he missed the first 9 minutes of the film. 3.At 2:40, Garrett’s cell phone buzzed, so he stepped out for 7 minutes to take the call. 4.At 3:10, Garrett was hungry, so he went to the concession stand to get popcorn and a soda. The line was long, and he missed about 10 minutes of the movie. 5.At 3:35,Garrett stepped out to use the bathroom. He came back in 5 minutes. 6.At 4pm, Garrett stepped out to take another cell phone call. It lasted 9 minutes, but he did make it back into the theater for the last minute or so of the film and the credits. Any ideas about why Garrett found the film unclear and confusing?
