SSP Tirana The objective of the SSP cooperation (School, Social Service and Police) is to build, implement and maintain a local and urban network of professionals who have crime prevention effects on children and young people’s daily life. The goal of the SSP cooperation is to:  Prevent and reduce youth crime  Prevent and reduce creating insecurity juvenile behavior  Respond immediately to acute local youth disorder

Establishing SSP cooperation in Tirana Region 1). Workshop on Crime Prevention and SSP cooperation (School, Social Service and Police), held on – in Tirana. TAIEX (EU) support. Outcome….

2). Initiative by Director of Tirana Police Directorate for support from PAMECA IV (EU) to create inter-institutional structure in Tirana (the Danish SSP model). 3). PAMECA IV recruited a Short Term Expert for this specific task to support and set up the structure – SSP model – in order to prevent and reduce crime among children and young people. 4). The task and goals. strengthening the relationship and cooperation with other institutions to achieve a safer community for children and young people and their families creating of a network and cross-sectorial collaboration (SSP model at strategic, management and implementation level to ensure knowledge and specific task within the SSP structure involve other relevant partners as well as civil society in the preventive work inform about the preventive efforts of the police and the SSP cooperation in Copenhagen / DK – the high priority

5). SSP Directors signing cooperation agreement in October 2014 to establish the SSP cooperation / organization in Tirana. 6). Study visit to SSP Copenhagen end of January 2015 on strategic level. TAIEX support. Cooperation – cooperation…….. The advantage of cooperation seems obvious “Lift together” – stronger than apart. Several professionals (disciplines) in on place - smarter together. More eyes, ears, voices and hands – better together - at identify and analyze needs – - act and coordinate in several way

7). SSP Directors signed the first SSP strategy in March for SSP Tirana 2015 and 2016.

8). Workshop on SSP cooperation in Tirana, on 6 – 7 May 2015.

”Does it work?” Yes it does but give it time!
