Attempts to break the blockade The blockade was held together by thousands of Union warships Some of these warships were nothing more than platforms with cannons There were several attempts to break the blockade with force but none succeeded Blockade Runners were men loyal to the Southern cause that would sneak through in order to get much needed supplies to the Confederacy Return to menu
