Arctic Monkeys— British rock-band. Musicians of this band are combining different styles and trends of music in their work, among which the main are the indie -rock, psychedelic rock, garage rock and post-punk.

The band was founded in 2002 in a suburb of Sheffield. The band released five studio albums: Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006), Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007), Humbug (2009), Suck It and See (2011) and AM (2013), and also 1 live album, one compilation, two mini-albums, 20 singles and 2 video albums.

Band's debut album became the best selling album of the rate in British music history. It outstriped the album "Definitely Maybe“ written by band Oasis. Arctic Monkeys is one of the most famous post-punk band in the UK and the world.

Friends and neighbors Alex Turner and Jamie Cook became interested in playing the guitar in That same year, the guys got guitars as a gift for Christmas and decided to pick up a guitar band, to which they have signed Matt Helders and Andy Nicholson.

Nicholson had already played the bass guitar, so Helders had to learn the game on drums. First Alex Turner shared responsibilities vocalist with Hlinom Jones, who left the band before the recording of the first album. Their first live concert was played on June 13, 2003 in Sheffield club “The Grapes”. Andy Nicholson has left the band after the first album was released.
