Students who arrive after 7:30 should report directly to their first period classroom area. School dismisses at 2:10. Students should be picked up by 2:30pm. Students who remain on campus after 2:30pm will be escorted to a holding room until they are picked up.

Students who report to school after 7:35am are considered tardy. Students who miss more than half of the instructional day or period will be counted absent. Students who arrive to school after 7:35am should report to the front office located in Lineberry to receive an admit slip.

The receptionist will determine if the tardy is excused or unexcused. Teachers will enter unexcused tardies in Powerschools. All tardies are considered unexcused unless a note is presented per Policy Students who arrive on late buses will not be counted tardy and be allowed to enter classes. Students will be issued a late bus pass to present to their teachers and hall monitors.

SCHOOLWIDE EXPECTATIONS Every student has the right to learn and teachers have the right to teach! Follow directions and respond to a request. Be on time and be prepared to learn. Be in your designated area. Use appropriate and respectful language. Respect self, respect others, and respect school. It is your responsibility to clean your table and throw your trash in the trash can at the end of lunch. Food and beverages must be consumed in the dining hall. Food items will be confiscated if they are brought out of the dining hall.

Students should refrain from entering a serving line ahead of students already in line. Using another student’s lunch number is prohibited and will be treated as theft. STEALING FOOD WILL RESULT IN A SUSPENSION.

A plain, unembellished brown or black belt must be worn with pants and shorts and placed within belt loops on the waist of the pants. Any item worn underneath the shirt or blouse should not be visible. Students must remove outerwear (jackets, coats, hats, gloves, scarves, etc.) after entering the building. The official school uniform must be visible during the school day and must not be covered by unapproved outerwear.

. Non-religious headwear, hats, scarves, or bandanas are prohibited. Sunglasses may be worn inside the building only if medically prescribed. Students should not have distracting, ostentatious or unnatural hair colors. Hair accessories should be in school colors— blue, yellow, grey, white —ONLY. PE Uniforms: Middle school students must purchase a PE uniform from the WYWLA PTSA. Students must wear their PE uniform and appropriate athletic footwear to participate in PE activities.  Students with excessive absences, along with their parents, will be required to meet with staff members to develop an individualized attendance improvement plan before the student accumulates 10 absences.  Please monitor your attendance.

 As leaders, you are expected to conduct yourselves appropriately at all times. Please see an adult if you need to resolve a conflict with another students. Failure to exercise adult resources, will result in serious consequences.  If you engage in a verbal or physical altercation consequences could range from 3 to 10 days of suspension, with the possibility of long term suspension depending on the severity of the incident.

EVEN IF YOU DID NOT START IT, IF YOU ENGAGE IN A VERBAL OR PHYSICAL ALTERCATION, YOU WILL RECEIVE CONSEQUENCES.

The WYWLA Code of Honor is an affirmation of our commitment to a high standard of conduct inside and outside of the classroom. Students, staff, parents and the community will work together to provide a positive, safe and orderly learning environment.
