Opportunities to meet Partner conference in December AQSC Annual Monitoring meeting Today’s conference – annual event? New ‘forum’ for UK partners Visits from PTLs and other university staff

Roles and Responsibilities University’s Senate has ultimate responsibility in terms of approving provision and ensuring academic standards are maintained Academic Office’s responsibility is to develop and manage the cp framework and quality assurance procedures and to manage/administer student cases Registry has responsibility of ensuring processes of admissions, registration and certification are complied with/completed

Roles and Responsibilities Faculty staff have responsibility for day-to-day management, such as: o Dealing with any academic and related queries you may have o Nominating, and liaising with, external examiner, in liaison with you o Liaising with you re: exam boards o Liaising you and the Academic Office re: student cases o Approving partner staff for delivery of UWTSD programmes o Receiving and considering APRs

PTL Role Each of programme will have a PTL, their role is to: Provide academic advice Monitor the arrangements made for the admission of students and the application of the approved entry requirements Check the accuracy of programme information provided for applicants and students Monitor the adequacy of resources – both human and physical Attend Examining Board meetings and agree final results Work with partners to identify and nominate external examiners, for approval by the University Review and provide written comments on draft assessment papers Check that marking responsibilities have been assigned Visit twice a year and meet with students Provide a report on visits to the partner and to relevant staff at the University

Review Interim review after first student cohort has completed, or after two years (which ever is the shorter). This will involve a Panel visiting you and reviewing documentation The focus will be on the operation of the partnership of a whole rather than of the programmes being delivered The outcome will be an evaluation of the partnership thus far, highlight any examples of good practice and any suggestions for improvement Then a Partnership Review every five years. Similar to Interim review but outcome a formal recommendation to Senate on future of partnership

Partnership Lecturer Scheme The scheme: Enables University to ensure approved partner staff have access to University e-resources (where permissible under licensing agreements) Ensures University aware of staff delivering on its programmes and that those staff are appropriately qualified to teach at a specific level and understand the context of higher education in the UK (as per indicator 13 of the Chapter B10 of the QAA UK Quality Code)

Partnership Lecturer Scheme The scheme is open to partner staff involved in: Leading, developing and delivering UWTSD programmes Teaching and assessing programmes of study leading to UWTSD awards Supporting students in the use of learning resources Participating in UWTSD’s research and development activities Undertaking and contributing to staff development activities within the University Partnership Lecturer status will be granted to individuals in recognition of their expertise to deliver services to the University. They are not employed by the University but are required to work in close partnership with the University as part of their role within the partner institution.

Partnership Lecturer Scheme AO writes to Partners at the beginning of each year and asks for confirmation of staff delivering on UWTSD programmes Confirmed staff deemed ‘Partnership Lecturers’ are sent an informing them of this They will be given details of the Partneship Institutions ‘MyDay’ page
