Priorities (Cont.) Regional Water Policy #1 – Landscaping The Congress of Regional Leaders recommends that, at a minimum, County and City Landscaping Ordinances for a new development should include language that: A.Limits the total amount of turf used on a lawn a percentage of the lot B. Encourages the use of native and drought resistant plant species C. Requires the use of a technologically advanced irrigation system (either one that knows when it is raining or one that uses soil moisture sensors and drip irrigations systems where practical)

Priorities (Cont.) Regional Water Policy #2 – Tiered Rate Structure The Congress of Regional Leaders recommends that all Municipalities in the Regional adopt a conservation-oriented Tiered Rate Structure

Requested Action Approval of funding from Orange County Utilities in the amount of $25,000 for the Congress of Regional Leaders. (All Districts )
