If tourism produces so many negatives WHY is it growing rapidly as an industry???????????? JOBS ~ millions of people all over the world depend on tourism for their livelihood. Without it they would be unemployed and would end up living in poverty. Also, tourism produces a MULTIPLIER effect…………….. jobs in tourism give people more spending power eg. in shops, so more shops are needed = more jobs created. People with jobs need more consumer goods eg. TV, computer – this creates jobs in manufacturing
