Target: I will learn the basics of Puritan religion and philosophy. Puritan Religion

  Humans are sinful by nature  Most people are damned for eternity  Salvation belongs to the elect  You don’t know if you are of the elect (saved) or the unregenerate (damned) Elements of Puritan Religion

 So…How can you tell if you are saved?  You can feel God in an intense, emotional way  You act like a saint  Work hard and are successful  Self-reliant, simple, conformist  Just say NO  If you display these qualities – it’s a sign that you are saved!! Elements of Puritan Religion

  These values were great for survival in a wilderness  Root of many current American values  Hard work, success, sexual conservatism Elements of Puritan Religion
