SYLVIE’S MORNING

Dear Ay ş egül, It's been a while since we wrote, so I thought I'd drop you a line to tell you about my unlucky day… Last week I left for a two-week business meeting, which was an opportunity for me to be promoted. I had to be at the airport for my flight to London at 9 am, but I overslept and didn’t wake up until 7:30 am. I got dressed very quickly, grabbed anything into my suitcase and run out of the house.

When I got to the airport, I realized I had forgotten my passport and ticket at home. So I took a taxi, picked them up from the coffee table and got in the taxi again to go back to the airport. One mile from the airport, the taxi broke down, so I tried to flag down another, but as a result of living in a crowded city, they were all taken and I had to run the rest of the way. I arrived at the airport exhausted to find out that I had missed my flight.

I went to speak to the airline clerk who told me there was another flight in three hours. While I was waiting, I went to buy a book, but I was so preoccupied with my difficult morning that I forgot to pay for it and got arrested by the police. I was held for three hours and missed the flight again. I went home and decided never to fly again! Sorry, but I have to finish. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care, Sylvie
