Workers’ Day of Mourning CUSW Health, Safety & Wellness Policy

REMEMBER National Workers’ Day of Mourning

Universal Safety Culture in the Workplace

HSW Policy We the Members of the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers are committed to maintaining a safe workplace for all of our Members. We recognize that all Members have the right to work in a safe and healthy environment, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulation.

HSW Policy We shall exercise our right to participate, our rights to know, our rights to refuse unsafe work and, if necessary, our right to stop work in dangerous circumstances. We will maintain a safe and positive environment through our actions and attitudes and promote this position through good example.

HSW Policy Our union Members will make every effort to eliminate the hazards that cause accidents and injuries. No task is so important, precisely scheduled, or tightly budgeted, that we cannot take the time to do our work in a safe manner.

We believe:  That everyone has the right to go home safely  Reporting accidents is our responsibility  That we must take a productive approach towards health, safety and wellness  We own our safety culture

Disregard or willful violation of this policy by Members will be subject to our Constitution and Policies
