Musketeer Sundowner Single engine Beech’s are usually confused with Cherokee’s. The Beech’s all have a one piece windshield, where all of the Cherokee’s have a split windshield. The Beechcrafts have a fat gear strut with main wheels that pretty much line up with the strut. All the Cherokee’s have skinny oleo struts and the wheels are outside the strut. The Beech’s have no taper to the wing. It is constant chord, longer and narrower than the Pipers

BE33 Debonair V-35 Bonanza Left is a good view of the Beechcraft gear, with the wheels on the inside of the struts. All of the retractable Beech’s, thru King Air’s have this look. From head-on, the Bonanza / Debonair series nose bowl has a distinct triangular look, with the long sides of the triangle pointing down.

A-36 Bonanza A-36 Bonanza Bonanza A-36 has 4 side windows with rear window still rectangular, Lance/Saratoga side windows have more taper to the rear and the last window is more triangular. Leading and trailing edges of the Bonanza wing tapers. Lance/Saratoga wing is either constant chord or only outboard half tapers

Travel Air Twin Bonanza Travel Air fuselage is basically same as a Baron, but with a straight tail. Cowling of the Travel Air looks fat and triangular from the front. Engine nacelles on the Twin-Bo are much larger. Twin-Bo looks like a larger Travel Air. From the front, you can see the Twin-Bo has a third windshield panel. Also, the Twin-Bo’s gear doors are not attached to the gear struts.

Duchess Seminole Seminole wing tapers outside of the nacelles, Duchess wing never tapers. Duchess has a one piece windshield, Seminole does not. Duchess vertical tail is wider and has a small point at the top leading edge. If you see one of these with a conventional tail, it is a Grumman Cougar.

Baron Duke Duke’s are unique: Smaller, uniform side windows and a very rakish vertical tail. Only Duke and King- Air’s have dihedral (upward tilt) to the horizontal tail. Large engine nacelle’s with big, square air inlets. Baron
