Slope-Intercept Form Stuff you already know:

Graph a line using Slope-Intercept Form First - Plot 3 points on a graph Use the slope (rise over run) to plot the second point Use the slope (rise over run) to plot the third point Using a straight edge, draw a straight line from edge-to-edge through the points

How many points do you need to draw a straight line? You need a starting point to draw your line. The SLOPE will help you find the other 2 points you will need

Using a STRAIGHT EDGE, draw a straight line through ALL 3 points, and extend your line to the edges of the graph

 The three points should all line up on a STRAIGHT LINE.  Do not bend the line to make it fit your points. (That’s why you use a straight edge!)  If all 3 points don’t lie on the STRAIGHT line, start over.  One or more of your points are incorrect.  THIS IS WHY YOU MUST USE A STRAIGHT EDGE TO GRAPH LINEAR EQUATIONS.

Using a STRAIGHT EDGE, draw a straight line through ALL 3 points, and extend your line to the edges of the graph
