START Student Behavior – Elementary alternative school – Refer habitual discipline offenders to Ombudsman even if they have a BIP – Gang awareness training Technology – Have Infinite Campus ready on Day 1 – BYO Technology – Electronic sign-in for teachers

START Personnel – Fix and explain payroll issues – Sick Leave Bank – Give cost of living raises Professional Learning – In-house PLUs and training for teachers and paras – Administrative job shadow for admin hopefuls – Provide in-service days for special ed teachers to do paperwork

START Instruction – Require pull-out program teachers to publish and stick to schedules each week (lower grades) – Establish aligned trade pathways at the MS – Add CTAE options at HS – Institute “Honors” contracts at the HS – Add more AP classes and Academic Competitions at the high school – Make special ed inclusion teachers accountable for grading and planning – Add MI & MO classes at ES

START Other – Start a 10-day attendance policy – Let teachers have input on TOTM – Improve signage at schools and in town – Improve pick-up and drop-off at PS – Purchase new math textbooks

STOP Personnel – Teacher lunch duty – Pulling para pros to serve as substitutes – Allowing slackers to slack because of who they are – So many grade level meetings at MS Extra-curricular – Allowing extra-curricular to interfere with class time & student attendance – Allowing band to drive ES schedule – Overkill of fund raisers

STOP Instruction – Classworks – Gifted program that does not appropriately serve or place students – Calling classes “honors” at HS when they are not – Jacket Time at MS – Social promotion – School year extension process at HS – Encouraging students to do Accel and MOWR

STOP Other – Furloughs – Mid-year changes at MS – Working on Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day – Free breakfast and lunch program – Confusing purchase order system

CONTINUE Personnel – Communication – keeping everyone in the loop – Opportunities for feedback – Monthly recognition of employees – Dress down days for all staff – Faculty Tailgate – Kelly Services for subs – Aspiring Leaders program – Hiring the best candidate regardless of where they are from – Current administrative teams

CONTINUE Instruction – New testing & placement process at ES – Reading Counts program – Improving RTI process – Jacket Time at MS Operations – Copiers in the schools – Updating technology and helpdesk service – Updating facilities and safety measures

CONTINUE Other – Current walk-through practices – Student recognition programs – College tour for high school students – School start & end times – bus routing – Good relationships and high morale
