Training Role Definitions Principal Trainers – Full-time HIP employee – Develop Curriculum – Build training environment – Train and supervise the Credentialed Trainers – Train Super Users and end users if needed Provider Educator – Existing BJC/Washington University providers and staff, private medical staff, and community physicians – Physicians, residents, fellows, mid-level clinicians, RNs, and non-clinicians with deep understanding of specialty workflow – We will utilize approximately 32 hours of onboarding – Expert resource at go-live Credentialed Trainers – BJC/Washington University, private medical staff and contract employees (full-time HIP employees) – Reports to principal trainers – Attend 6 – 9 weeks of training-Credentialed by Epic and HIP Training Leadership – Assist Provider Educators in the classroom – Teach non-provider classes and administer end user proficiency assessments Super Users – Existing BJC/Washington University employees and physicians, private medical staff, and community physicians – Reports to Operational Readiness Team – Attend Super User specific training 2 weeks before end user training begins – Assist Credentialed Trainers in the classroom (Super Users do not teach classes) – Will serve as go-live support Elbow-to-Elbow Support – Contract employees who provide support during go-live – Usually on-site for 8-10 days during go-live

Specialist Training Specialist

Overview: Specialists Training Specialists Providers deliver training to providers in their specialty The providers delivering training consist of well-respected physicians, nurse practitioners/residents and clinicians selected from within each site’s specialty The assumption is that an expert in the specialty can answer and address the workflow questions most effectively Epic has developed specialty-based classes (called Training Tracks) that include course curriculum for 50 unique specialties 14

Provider Educator Definition Provider Educator – Existing BJC/Washington University employees – Physicians, specialized residents, fellows, mid-level clinicians, RNs, non-clinicians with deep understanding of specialty workflow – Expert resource at go-live 15

Who will be trained as a provider? For HIP implementation training, the term “Provider” includes all licensed independent practitioners including, but not limited to: – Physicians (MD/DO) – Nurse Practitioners (NP) – Physician Assistants (PA) – Audiologists – Optometrists – Podiatrists – Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) 16
