The library was to serve the interest of Fisheries Biologist, Biology students and Technical staff within Division of Fisheries To – 1. Collect Research & Technical Reports. 2. Store & Maintain the material for future references. 3. Disseminate these references to its client.

Organization Transition From Division of Fisheries to be a Department of Fisheries & Marine Resources. The Library collection has expanded in size. Estimated collection to be 10,000 Research & Technical Reports by Fisheries Research Biologist, Economist, Observers, Consultants etc. Additional books, periodicals were freely received from FAO, SPC, FFA and other fisheries agencies
