 Concept of the Business Council was elaborated on 26 th of November 2013 during the 2nd Summit of Heads of Government of China and Central and Eastern European Countries in Bucharest;  Enshrined in the Bucharest and Belgrade Guidelines  Secretariat established on the basis of Memorandum of understanding between Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) signed in Belgrade on 16 th of December Background and legal basis

 Business Council promotes cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries;  The main objective of the Business Council is to stimulate economic cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, in particular in the area of:  mutual investment,  trade,  technology cooperation. Objectives

 To network and promote economic cooperation between enterprises, public and private business environment organisations from China and Central and Eastern European countries;  To exchange information on actions taken by Council members for the development of investments and trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries;  To promote good practices in economic cooperation between companies from China and Central and Eastern European countries;  To collect information and raise awareness on factors influencing development of China-Central and Eastern European countries business cooperation;  To organise joint promotion and cooperation undertakings aimed at stimulating mutual trade relations between China and Central and Eastern European countries. Major tasks

 Economic projects which can be implemented jointly by entrepreneurs from China and Central and Eastern European countries, including investment projects;  Members’ projects, initiatives and undertakings aimed at promoting economic relations between China and Central and Eastern European countries;  Promotional, informational, training and educational materials developed by Members aimed at preparing entrepreneurs for trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries;  Identified barriers to the development of mutual economic relations;  Potential market opportunities connected with the development of mutual economic relations, including public and private cooperation offers;  Good practices in promoting economic relations between China and Central and Eastern European countries.  Economic forums during regular meetings of heads of governments of Central and Eastern European countries and China;  Trade and economic missions;  B2B meetings;  Presence during fairs (booths) and other economic events. Joint promotion and cooperation initiatives

 Position papers on governmental and non- governmental initiatives and undertakings aimed at the development of European- Chinese Business relations,  Proposals for further actions, policy and business initiatives. To be discussed- further activities

 The Business Council is composed of public and private business support organisations from 16 China and Central and Eastern European countries that engage in trade promotion and development of mutual economic relations.  Potential Council members have been identified with the help of competent authorities of Central and Eastern European countries and China  Membership in the Business Council is voluntary. Membership 1/3

 Other public and private business support organizations from China and Central and Eastern European countries may apply for membership  Representatives of governments, business support institutions and experts other than permanent members of the Council, may be invited to join meetings of the Business Council. Partnerships

 Secretariat is set within Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) – on behalf of Central and Eastern European countries and the Beijing Office set within China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) – on behalf of China;  The cost of running the Secretariat and the Beijing office are covered by PARP and CCPIT;  Secretariat keeps the list of the Business Council members and contact persons, documentation of the Council (reports on Council meetings, positions list of events etc. Organization Business Council Secretariat

 Each member appoints its representative responsible for on- going contacts with the Secretariat and other Council members;  Business Council meetings will take place at least once a year, alternately in China and in one of Central and Eastern European countries;  Business Council members can establish Working Groups responsible for particular tasks or projects;  Secretariat keeps all Business Council members informed on the status of preparations to subsequent Council meetings and initiatives;  The working language of the Business Council is English.  Main target group of the website:  Entrepreneurs from Central and Eastern European countries and China willing to start and develop mutual economic cooperation;  Business environment institutions acting to develop economic cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries and China.  Every Business Council member shall be responsible for contributing to the content of the website and promoting it among the target groups (entrepreneurs, business environment institutions).
