Dominant trait 1.The strong form of a trait 2.A trait that appears even if an organism has only one factor for the trait

Environment All living and non-living things that surround and affect an organism

Gene The part of a chromosome that contains the DNA code for an inherited trait.

Inherited trait A characteristic passed from parent to offspring

Instinct A behavior that animals are born with and do automatically

Learned behavior A behavior that an animal acquires through experience.

Recessive trait: a trait that appears in an organism that has two factors for the trait. It is the weaker trait.
