Mr. Browning’s 1 st Days of School

Classroom Expectations 3 B’s – Non-Negotiables 1. Be NICE 2. Be ENGAGED 3. Be HONEST What is the importance of these 3 non- negotiables?

Hallway Expectations ARMS NON-NEGOTIABLES 1. A. Silent 2. B. Single File 3. C. Move with a purpose, time is valuable 4. D. Keep your hands off others.

Classroom Policies Food, gum, and beverages are not allowed in the classroom. (Water only) When the door closes, class begins. Major assignments and projects can be resubmitted. They will be scored at a 10% deduction. Absences  Ask team members or a classmate first for assignments.  Each absence has a one-day grace period.  Check the table of Contents to ensure your notebook is up to date

Classroom Policies Turn your work in on time. Come to class prepared with materials and new ideas. Bring required materials each day. (3-ring binder, loose leaf paper, composition notebook, pen and a pencil, color pencils/ markers

Interactive Notebook! Academy A students are required to keep 1 2-inch binder! NO EXCEPTIONS Keep tabs in your notebook for each subject area. Math Science Social Studies Students will keep all materials in order by date. Notebooks will be checked for a grade every 9 weeks. ELA Instructional Focus

Grading Scale see syllabus for specifics Grades are based on the accumulation of points. Points are based on:  Class participation (effort)  Completion of assignments (daily work)  Major projects, exams, and self-reflection Grades are posted online frequently check infinite campus

The JAG Bite 1 st offence you receive a letter to send home to your parent for signature. Students offence is recorded on the T-Drive. 2 nd offence you receive (Silent Lunch or On-team) and your parents receive a phone call or from the teacher. 3 rd offence you receive an office referral.

Entering Classroom appropriately! Entering Class A. After entering the room, students may not leave without permission. B. Bring all necessary materials IN THE CLASS! C. Upon entering, students should go to their assigned seats and prepare for class. Once you enter you can not exit. D. Read board for instructions and warm-up assignments

Exiting Classroom appropriately! Exiting Class A. The teacher will dismiss the class Not The Bell. B. Pack things neatly, to ensure all work remains organized. C. Students are responsible for cleaning the area around their desks before leaving the room.

What can you, the student, expect from me, the teacher? You are an important key to your success, and the success of the overall classroom. I will do my best to push you past your own expectations to exceed those of others! You are highly intelligent and I intend to facilitate experiences that will grow you intellectually and academically. You are guaranteed 110% from me, everyday!
