The Types of Love By: Megan Rollin and Michaela Pouwels

Topic Our topic is teenage love.

Theme Teenage love should not be taken seriously because there is many types of love.

Romeo and Juliet “I will kiss thy lips. Haply some poison yet doth hang on them to make me die with a restorative” ( ). This answers the question of what types of love do teenagers experience because Juliet shows compassion for Romeo even though they have known each other of a short period of time. This quote also shows that teenagers that if their not with that person or can't be with them they will "die" over it. I don't know the exact word for this type of love but it shows how dangerous teenage love can actually be. This proves that our theme exists in Romeo and Juliet.

R&J Continued…. This also helps because this particular quote shows that teenagers have a type of love where they think that person is perfect for them and will do anything for them. This quote also shows that teenagers that if their not with that person or can't be with them they will "die" over it. I don't know the exact word for this type of love but it shows how dangerous teenage love can actually be.

Research question What types of love do teenagers experience? We know there are some types of love but we wanted to know the ones that teens experience.

Research “Valentine's Day is all about love--well, it's about marketing, too--but there's also a hate/hate relationship in play for many people. Those who aren't in love, or at least dating--that is, single--dislike it because it reminds them (oh, so mightily) of their status.” This answers our research question because it is saying that maybe some teens only want to be in a relationship because they do not want to be alone on valentines day and they want to feel wanted. This relates to Romeo and Juliet because when Rosaline leaves Romeo he wants to find some one else to fill that void in him and he wants to fell loved by someone.

Research Continued “One third of those who get married each year have been married before.” This answers our question because it is saying most of the people that get married each year have been married already this means they most likely got married at a young age and did not know the person that well.

Research Continued Affectionate or passionate devotion. The Greeks recognized four aspects of love: liking of something ( storage ), friendship or fondness of a person ( philos ), erotic love ( eros ), and selfless love ( agape ). This is saying there is 4 types of love. This relates to our topic because most teens are stuck in the liking of something or someone stage and many cant get out of this stage. It relates to Romeo and Juliet because they skipped that phase of love and went right to being married.

Romeo And Juliet "Deny thy father and refuse the name; Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I should no longer be a Capulet" ( ). We feel like there is a type of love that teenagers have that is kind of like this quote. For example sometimes somebody says some nice things and next thing you know they are dating. In this scene Juliet just met Romeo and can barely see him and she is willing to give up her name to be with him. Some people see this as love at first sight but is that based on looks because you have no idea what they are like or who they really are.

Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet are like most teenagers today because they are just as dramatic as us and think they are willing to give up every thing to be with the one they love.

Conclusion We found that the types of love teens experience are the liking of something a friendship or fondness of a person, erotic love and selfless love.
