Objective: By the end of the class, each of you should be able to use the six-step decision-making model to carefully think through your decisions and make the best choice.

Decision Making The word decision can be defined as choices you make. Each choice we make has consequences. Decisions can have a positive or negative outcome. Use the decision making model to help…

Step 1: State the problem: be clear about the problem or decision.

Step 2: Gather accurate information from reliable sources. What are all the possible choices in this situation? Think of all the ways you could go about solving the problem

Step 3: List the choices or options that are possible. Step 3: List the choices or options that are possible. Think of the positive outcomes Think of the negative outcomes

Step 4: Determine the positive and negative outcomes of each. Ask yourself questions

Step 5: Decide who is influencing and who is affected by the choice. Will I get in trouble? Is it safe?

Step 6: Make the decision.

Step 7: Evaluate the decision. Did I make the right decision?
