This is the Clown Fish. A Clown Fish [Clown Anemonefish] lives among anemone. Anemone are animals that live on the ocean floor. They look like sea flowers and have hundreds of poisonous tentacles. The anemone protects the animal by killing all of the clown fish’s enemies but the clown fish is immune to the anemone’s poison.

This is a Killer Whale or Orca. Most people think that Killer Whales are whales but they are actually dolphins. You can tell the difference between male and female Orcas by their dorsal fins. (see picture below) Orcas eat fish, squid, sharks, birds, seals, sea turtles, octopi, and even other whales.

The Blue Ring Octopus is the most venomous octopus. It lives in warm shallow reefs off the coast of Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It has blue rings and eight arms. If an arm is lost it will grow a new one.

Sea Horses are small fish. There are about 50 different kinds of them. They live in seaweed beds in warm water. The sea horse is the only animal in which the male is the pregnant one.

The Blue Shark lives in clear, deep, blue water. It usually eats anchovies, herring, and sardines. The Blue Shark is one of the most common of the sharks. It can weigh anywhere from pounds.

The sand dollar is not really any kind of dollar at all. It is really a skeleton of a marine animal. Sand dollars are from the family called Echinoids. The sand dollar is related to sea urchins, sea cucumbers, star fish, and the sea lily.
