Open to all Lorain County students: Recommended 2.75 GPA or higher. Completed Algebra I with a “B” or better. Completed Biology with a “B” or better. Must have an acceptable attendance record (less than 5 days a semester) Recommended: Passed all OGT’s Have up-to-date immunization status(MMR, Tetanus & Hepatitis) Transportation required in senior year for clinical days
2 year program starting in junior year. ½ day program Juniors come in the morning 7:50-10:20 Seniors come in the afternoon 11:53 -2:14 Can receive up to 19 articulated college credits upon completing 2 years in the program (after meeting all criteria) Many additions to your resume
American Heart Association CPR: ◦ 2 yrs. American Red Cross 1 st Aid: ◦ 2 yrs “Disaster” drill Possible 2 college credits
Medical Terminology internet course (3 credits) Body Structure & Function (Anatomy & Physiology) (3 credits) General Pathology (2 credits) Patient Care (1 credit) Optional STNA (Nurse Assistant) training in the summer. (5 credits) SDEV 101-student development for LCCC (1 credit) Introduction to Medical Assisting
To “articulate” means “to join” We are joined with LCCC in the Lorain County Consortium As College Tech Prep students, you are registered with LCCC and receive an ID To receive articulated credits, students must complete the full 2 years in the program. You are not required to attend LCCC.
