Unequally Yoked: Where Does Compromise Lead Us? Do not be Unequally Yoked:
Jesus tells us there are only two roads (Matthew 7:13-14) UNEQUALLY YOKED: WHERE DOES COMPROMISE LEAD US?
We are to be fully committed to the Lord (Luke 9:62, 14:26) Bible Examples of No Compromise: Good cannot be yoked with Evil Light cannot be yoked with Darkness Spirit cannot be yoked with the Flesh Pure cannot be yoked with Hypocrisy Love of God cannot be yoked with love of World *With these there is no compromise, no riding the fence, and no middle road!
In order for Christians to submit to Jesus, we cannot let Satan make us think that God will allow us to compromise His will. Isn’t that what Satan deceived Eve with (Genesis 3:1-5)? UNEQUALLY YOKED: WHERE DOES COMPROMISE LEAD US?
1. BRETHREN FOUR AREAS I HAVE SEEN SATAN TEMPTING CHRISTIANS TO COMPROMISE
2. FAMILY FOUR AREAS I HAVE SEEN SATAN TEMPTING CHRISTIANS TO COMPROMISE
3. SPORTS (BASKETBALL) FOUR AREAS I HAVE SEEN SATAN TEMPTING CHRISTIANS TO COMPROMISE
4. WORK FOUR AREAS I HAVE SEEN SATAN TEMPTING CHRISTIANS TO COMPROMISE
WHEN WE COMPROMISE FROM PRESSURE IN THE WORLD, A NUMBER OF BAD THINGS HAPPEN! 1. We don’t put Christ first in our lives (Lk 14:16-24). 2. We do not obey God (Acts 5:29). 3. We become useless salt (Matthew 5:13). 4. We give up an opportunity to expose darkness (Ephesians 5:8-11). 5. We do not share in the sufferings of Jesus (Acts 5:41, 1 Peter 4:12-19). 6. We go along with the world rather than changing it (Daniel 3:26-30, 4:34-37)!
Sometimes standing for the Lord is very difficult and there are consequences to pay. We will suffer if we put the Lord first in our lives (2 Timothy 3:12). If we are not suffering, we need to examine ourselves a little closer (2 Corinthians 13:5). And in the long run our suffering is well worth it (Mark 10:28-31)! UNEQUALLY YOKED: WHERE DOES COMPROMISE LEAD US?
As we interact in the world we will have to make choices; compromise with the world and be unequally yoked to it or stand for the Lord and be yoked with brethren who put Him first. Let us do what Paul says to do in Romans 13:11-14! UNEQUALLY YOKED: WHERE DOES COMPROMISE LEAD US?
UNEQUALLY YOKED: WHERE DOES COMPROMISE LEAD US? How about you? Are you willing to cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light?
UNEQUALLY YOKED: WHERE DOES COMPROMISE LEAD US? Why not obey the Lord right now? Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
