World Climate Zones

What is the difference between weather and climate?

Weather The day to day changes in the air. This can be different every day and can also change throughout the day. Sunny Rainy Humid Snowy Cold Hot Warm Dry Stormy Freezing

Climate The weather over a long period of time. This usually remains the same for the time of year. Hot in Georgia in the Summer Cold in Alaska in the winter.

…so, Climate is what you expect it to be like and weather is what you get.

Turn to your partner and take turns explaining the difference between climate and weather.

There are 4 things that can have an affect on the climate of an area There are 4 things that can have an affect on the climate of an area. Can you guess what they might be?
