THE DESKTOP AND HANDING IN PROCEDURES

Definition  The primary screen you see as soon as you start the computer.  The appearance of the desktop varies depending on the operating system and the individual user.

Common desktop items  Wallpaper – the background of the screen  Icons – the little pictures on the screen that represent software or functions  Taskbar – the line that appears across the bottom of the screen that contains the start button, the time and other icons

Common features of desktops  Window – a rectangular area on the screen that displays the contents of a folder, directory or document

Naming a File  All files should have YOUR NAME and ASSIGNMENT NAME  Example: Luigi Hoogenraad – Computer Intro.doc  Save all files in the proper formats.

Handing in Files  Go to My Computer and Double-click on docs  Double-click on Handin

Handing in Files  Locate and Double-click on BTT1O Hoogenraad 2015  Drag and Drop your file into the Folder
