Geography Vs. Geographer Geography is The study of the earth. A Geographer is… A person who studies geography.

How are the words geography & geographer related? A geographer studies geography by using maps, globes, and a compass.

Maps & Globes: Compare and Contrast Maps A tool with a flat shape that shows details about an area. Globes A map on a round model that shows places on Earth.

Finding Locations Relative Location You can use maps to find a landmark or place near your location. Absolute Location You can use maps to find the exact location of a place.
