State Flag Has eight horizontal stripes representing the major islands.

State Nickname The Aloha State is it’s nickname. It is the way Hawaiian way to say hello to new comers from different states.

State History The first people came to Hawaii between 300AD and 700AD. They came from the Marquesas Islands by boat.

State History, continued Became territory of the U.S.A in 1898 and Sanford Dole becomes its president.

This state became the 50th state in the United States in The first Governor of the state was Sanford B. Dole. Statehood

Government The current governor is Neil Abercrombie.

Population 2000: 1,211,537 Over the past fifty years the population has increased.

Economy Chief products of the state include: −Agricultural pineapple, sugar cane, and −Fishing −Manufactured goods books, clothing, and macadamia nuts.

Only invited guests get to go there Molokai, the Friendly Island. It’s wide open space gives room to roam. Lanai, the Pineapple Island. Ancient Hawaiians carved pictures in rocks.

Famous People Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and became the 44 th president. King Kamehameha united all the kingdoms into one. Queen Liliuokalani surrender to the United States Representatives and colonists seize control of the islands.
