London 24/04/ /04/2013
Wednesday Departure in England I should say : I woke up at 4.30 a.m ! I went to the meeting point with my class and the 4e5. And in the coach, in the night, what do I see ?! A man with a hat : ARTHUR LELOIR ! We arrived at the train station at 7.45 and then we went through the customs. We waited for euro star in the sofa. Once in the great train we left the suitcase in a rack. After that we went to our seats and prepared ourselves to the journey. When we arrived at the train station « st pancras» the coach was late so we went to the beautiful Britsih library. After the coach arrived, we did a litle London tour by coach. It lasted 30 minutes and then we went to Buckingam palace to see the changing of the guard. That was amazing ! After that we went to St James park to eat our lunch Well deserved. Then we went back to the coach and went to visit the London museum. And then we came back to the coach to meet our host family where I slept with Arthur. Some of us had a great family or not. For me it wasn't very great.
Thursday Morning After a good night in the family, we took a breakfast. We went to the Tate Modern with the coach. Tate Modern is a modern art gallery in London. It is Britain's national gallery of international modern art and forms part of the Tate group. It is the most-visited modern art gallery in the world, with around 4.7 million visitors per year. It is based in the former Bankside Power Station of Central London. The trip lasted 2 hours. It was quite borring. I sleep because I was tired of last day. The coach left us to the Globe and we walked to Tate Modern for 10 minutes. Arrived to Tate Modern, we were separated in many groups to visit different galleries.
Thursday afternoon After the visit at the Tate Modern, we ate under the London eye, on the grass, moreover it was sunny so we all enjoyed this moment all together. After lunch, we walked in London to go to Victoria Palace : we went to Billy Elliot's musical. It was long, almost three hours, but it was very good ! The actors played very well, above all the boy who played Billy Elliot, was very awesome. After the musical, we went back to the coach.
Friday morning We took the coach at 8:30 am, at the meeting point to go to Shakespeare's Globe. We visited the Globe with a guide named Suzann, we set the galleries and the guide talked about the theatre and we went in the pit to see the stage. After the visit, the guide took us to another place where we made a workshop, we played games and a Romeo and Juliet scene. We had lunch in Jubillee Gardens before going to Covent Garden, it was raining.
Friday afternoon After a good lunch, we had a free time in Covent Garden. Covent Garden is a district in London on the eastern fringes of the West End, between St.Martin's Lane and Drury Lane. It is associated with the former fruit and vegetable market in the central square, now a popular shopping and tourist site, and the Royal Opera House, which is also known as "Covent Garden". We bought any memories of london. We took the train at 18 p.m to paris and the trip was finished.
Anecdote ● Mathilde : When we arrived wednesday, the woman showed us the bathroom : we were speechless in front of it. It was very big and it was only for us. ● Arthur : I think London was a lot cleaner than Paris and all big cities in France. ● Etienne : When we arrived to our guest family, we ate alone in the living room and the lady ate in front of the television. Ana : Thursday, on our way back to the meeting point, there was a lot of trafic so the coach was late and when we got home, our family told us that if the coach wouldn't have been late we could have gone to the mall, we were disappointed.
