Seattle is an American city located in the North West of the USA, in the State of Washington. It has the same name than the capital, Washington DC which is located in East of the USA.

There are about three million inhabitants. 70,5 % are White Americans, 7,8% African Americans and 0,9% Native Americans. There are Native Americans in Seattle mostly because the city was founded next to the Duwamish Tribe. Population

The city was founded in the middle of the 19 th century. It was named by David Swinson Manyard. He was an American pioneer. He came from the state of Vermont. History David Swinson Manyard

The local economy rose with the Boeing manufacturing company which is one of the most important in the airliner market. Boeing was founded in Seattle by William Edward Boeing who was from German origin. Boeing Corporate headquarters have been in Chicago, Illinois since 2001.

Mount Rainier is a volcano located 87 km southeast of Seattle. You can see it from the city. The last dramatic eruption happened in 1894 but it is not a dead Volcano.Geography
