The activities of Center of Excellence are based on the idea of continuous professional development of teachers in the framework of integration of the Kazakhstani education into the world educational space CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

December 5-6, 2011 International scientifically-practical conference «TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: TRADITIONS AND CHANGES» CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

Strategic partner of AEO “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” is University of Cambridge International Examinations. On November 10, 2011 an Agreement “For the Provision of Certain Educational Services” was signed. It includes: - developing programme and study materials; - training and supporting trainers; - assessment of the programme; - creating Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) CENTER OF EXCELLENCE STRATEGIC PARTNER

1-4 WEEKS FACE-TO-FACE 1-4 WEEKS ONLINE PRACTICE AT SCHOOL 1-4 WEEKS FACE-TO-FACE PROGRAM STRUCTURE AND PHASE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

1 st phase ‘Face to face’ - 4weeks  Reviewing in an interactive mode the key ideas of the program and methods of their implementation into school practice within the range of 7 topics  Practical recommendations on teaching, learning, planning and conducting research CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

Online (asynchronous) learning Practice at school -4 weeks Implemented changes in teaching and learning are systematically assessed by teachers themselves during practice at school Trainers support teachers (asynchronous education) by means of forum of the education portal. CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

2 nd phase ‘Face to face’- 4 weeks Trainers support teachers to prepare portfolio, using formative and then summative assessment during the final week of this phase. CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

EDUCATIONAL PORTAL OF COE

On the basis of Educational Platform teachers professional network was formed. The users of the given professional network are the course participants. Teachers professional network allows teachers to: raise the level of skills by sharing experience and communication; fulfill online (asynchronous) learning; ensure methodical support by trainers and CoE staff. CENTER OF EXCELLENCE TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL NETWORK

April, 4 – June, 23, 2012 the courses of teachers’ professional development held by the Center of Excellence. Teachers were trained by specialists prepared by Cambridge University, experts, Faculty of Education. CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
