Architects and Housing Needs What factors affect housing designs?

YOUR TASK Your group will research 10 architects of houses from any time in history. What were the environmental factors? What were the societal factors? Each person in the group should share in the research, production and presentation portions of the assignment.

Society and housing today. Research 3 cultures today. Find an architect who designs for a culture outside of the United States. What are the societal and environmental considerations when he/she designs a house?

EXAMPLE Example: Earl Young designed houses in Michigan. Environmental factor: Society factor:

ORAL PRESENTATION You will present your Power Point to the class. Each group member will present her section of the presentation to the class. All members of the group will receive the same grade. Make sure all are working to their fullest potential.

RUBRIC Each slide is worth 5 points. 3 for content 2 for design Oral presentation is worth 20 points Total point value is 70 points
