Fluid is the Default Fluid UI is turned on by default on PeopleTools 8.55 On PeopleTools 8.54 there were options to disable Fluid UI through Web Profile settings The Web Profile settings have been removed on PeopleTools 8.55 Could be difficult for power user to adapt to Fluid PeopleTools 8.54PeopleTools 8.55

Tiles Interactive Tiles Interact with data directly within a tile Interactive tiles that require more screen space may open a modal window External Content Content displayed in tile is always set to be interactive Tile Sizing Tiles can now be presented to users in greater variety of sizes They can be set to size themselves automatically depending on the size of the content, browser size and device size Can be set for auto or manual sizing

Navigation Bar Enhancements The Navigation Bar (NavBar) is improved for use with Small Form Factor devices. When screen width is limited, the NavBar will show only the tile list. The user can navigate from a tile in the list to the second level and make a selection, or navigate back to the tile list; but only the tile list will be displayed. This makes a fluid page and the NavBar specifically work better in touch first mode.

Improved Selection Process Iterative Search - Users can now create change package definitions from multiple searches. Searches by different criteria such as object and bug can now be consolidated into a single change package for easier maintenance. Users can now do direct searches for new features and for tax updates. There is an option within search to provide the user with customization impact information during search.

PS Admin Improvements Log Correlation New fields are added to the application and web server domain logs that help easily correlate middle tier log entries. The new fields help identify transactions and user information

Security Impacts The new release now also supports password length for the database Access and Connect Ids up to 32 characters. In the past, this limitation was significant since Access and Connect Ids were not able to meet most database security requirements. PeopleTools 8.55 serve to further the Oracle Secure Configuration initiative by expanding on its Secure by Default installation. The Secure by Default approach ensures that application configuration settings help reduce system vulnerability. Boosts password control capabilities by delivering default values for password minimum length, Signon PeopleCode, Password Expiration and Account Lockout. Forgot Password functionality no longer provides feedback if a correct User Id is entered or if the correct response is entered to the password question. When generating private keys, by default PeopleTools now uses the SHA-256 with RSA encryption algorithm and the 4096 key size.
