In order to sponsor a project, clubs must achieve one of two “circuit breakers” in the contribution year: 1.) Contribute a minimum of $2,500 to APF or 2.) Reach $100 per capita** giving to AF-SHARE (** membership start + end / 2) Clubs not qualifying to sponsor grant eligible projects may still assign their DDF to a partner club’s project. This applies to both DISTRICT and GLOBAL Grants, and assumes club has participated in annual Grants Workshop and submitted signed MOU. $15,000 minimum TRF World Fund match for GLOBAL Grant eligible projects, meaning total project funding from all sources (including partner clubs outside D- 6890) must be $30,000 or more. DISTRICT Grants will be awarded around 7/1 each year (application deadline 4/30). The balance of DDF will be available for GLOBAL Grants to be awarded by 10/1 (application deadline 8/30). Ideally, ALL available DDF will be allocated by clubs. DDF that is not allocated (or assigned) through the reserve process will be available & awarded to eligible projects by the District 6890 TRF Leadership Committee. When necessary, grant request evaluation will be based on factors including project life (years of impact), number of clubs participating, sponsor club’s per capita giving and public relations elements. This metric will be based on number of clubs contributing at least $500 to the project. Project Sustainability (life expectancy) 5+ yrs = 5 pts 3-4 yrs = 3 pts 1-2 yrs = 1 pt Includes life expectancy of any equipment plus plans for ongoing support and/or additional project elements. Public Relations Element/Opportunity Substantial = 5 pts Moderate = 3 pts Minimal = 1 pt PR plan may be footnoted with application and may include activity in project community as well as local publicity for sponsoring Rotary club.
