Consortia consisting of at least two SMEs from two different participating countries can apply for ETB funding. The overall budget of the call is up to 35 million euros. Each applicant should have contacted his/her national funding agency before submitting. February 2007

The EUROTRANS-BIO Initiative EUROTRANS-BIO (ETB) is a four year project founded in October 2004 which is funded under the European Commissions ERA-NET scheme. EUROTRANS-BIO is an initiative between government research and development funding bodies in Austria, Basque Country (Spain), Finland, Flanders (Belgium), France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain. EUROTRANS-BIO’s objective is to foster economic and academic players in sharing risks, costs and skills related to innovation in order to develop new products, technologies or supply services that could reach the market more efficiently. EUROTRANS-BIO’s goal is to establish cross-border partnerships between SMEs, improve and accelerate technology transfer, strengthen European efforts to achieve sustainable industrial development in the field of biotechnology. EUROTRANS-BIO launches common calls for industry-driven trans-national R&D projects to create an integrated funding programme for biotech SMEs.
