PROPOSAL PREPARATION MEETING – TA GROUPS MEETING, OCTOBER 8-10, 2013 | ATHENS Marine X-band Radar Role in the project > Objective: > To develop an innovative system based on X-band marine radars for search and rescue application. The analysis of marine radar data provides real time information about sea surface current and waves. This allows at localizing with good accuracy the search area so to improve the efficiency of the rescue procedures. To design an operational strategy, based on sea and wind information, as support to search and rescue operations. Local and remote databases To store sea state measurements and current maps in local (on board) and remote database for time series generation and post processing.
