The Shepherd Loves His Sheep 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Hireling works for wages The shepherd serves out of love The hireling thinks of money The shepherd thinks of people Safety and eternal welfare is the shepherd’s concern.

He is the “Good” Shepherd Agathos – Moral goodness Kalos quality of service based on love

Loving Service John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

I Cor. 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
