SUFFIXES There’re three kind of suffixes: Nouns Adjectives Adverbs

SUFFIXES WHICH FORM NOUNS We used the suffixes -ment, -tion/-sion, and -er/-or to change a verb into a noun. Verb Suffix Noun Example: ACT + -OR = ACTOR

SUFFIXES WHICH FORM NOUNS Furthermore we can add the suffixes -ity, -ship, -ness or -ence/-ance. PERSONALPERSONALITY FRIENDFRIENDSHIP HAPPYHAPPINESS ANNOYANNOYANCE

SUFFIXES WHICH FORM ADJECTIVES We make use of the suffixes -ed and -ing to transform a verb into an adjective. -ED -ING -ED is used to describe how somebody feels. -ING is used to describe what make someone feel like that.

SUFFIXES WHICH FORM ADJECTIVES Moreover we can use -ful (CON) and -less (SIN) in some nouns to form adjectives. For example: CARE CAREFUL CARELESS HOPE HOPEFUL HOPELESS

SUFFIXES WHICH FORM ADJECTIVES At last, we also form adjectives adding -ous, -al, -able, -ive and -ant/ent. For example: PredictPredictable DangerDangerousConfideConfident NationNational

FALSE FRIENDS They are the words that are written in the same way (or similar) in Spanish are confused, but really mean something else in English.
