Quality assurance update  A review of the quality assurance approach by October Findings from this review will inform arrangements for the 2017–18 session and onwards  In 2016–17, SQA will suspend the random sample element of unit verification  In 2016–17, centres may be selected for verification: - when new to delivery - when not accepted in previous year  There will continue to be a proportion of random sampling of IACCAs and added value units in Round 2  Centres can request verification of any unit or course assessment

Understanding Standards 2016–17  Further candidate evidence and commentary materials will be published during 2016–17, as well as case studies identifying good practice in assessment.  A series of Understanding Standards events on course assessment will also be delivered.  A programme of webinars will be delivered during 2016–17  Candidate evidence for externally assessed components of course assessment:  Candidate evidence for units and internally assessed components of course assessment/components of course assessment which are subject to visiting verification:

 Early to mid-June Eligibility Reports will be issued to centres  Contains information on volume of outstanding unit entries and results  Data Services and Liaison teams will be in touch during this period to provide support Eligibility Reports

9 August 2016 Opening date for clerical check, priority marking review or marking review requests, for all qualifications where there are externally assessed components of the course assessment 19 August 2016 Closing date for priority marking review requests (conditional offer at university/college) 30 August 2016 Closing date for clerical check/marking review requests, for all qualifications where there are externally assessed components of the course assessment Post Results Service Centres and UCAS will be advised of priority marking review results by 29 August Centres will be advised of marking review and clerical check results by 30 September 2016.
